Cut UV Tool#
The Cut UV tool is the primary tool in the UV Flow add-on, located in the Edit Mode toolbar. When activated, it provides a pre-selection highlight for edges and faces as you hover over your mesh.
Interacting with Edges#
You can interact with edges using the following actions:
Left Mouse Button (LMB): Mark edge as seam.
Alt + LMB: Clear edge as seam.
Double LMB: Mark loop as seam, stopping at other seams.
Shift + Double LMB: Mark entire loop as seam.
Alt + Double LMB: Clear loop as seam, stopping at other seams.
Alt + Shift + Double LMB: Clear entire loop as seam.
Drag LMB: Draw a marked seam path.
Alt + Drag LMB: Draw a clear seam path.
Seam Behavior#
When marking or clearing loops as seams, the seam will stop when it meets another seam.
While drawing to mark or clear seams, use the dots of neighboring vertices as targets. You can also erase by dragging backward toward the red dot.
Selecting Faces#
While using the Cut UV tool, you can also select faces:
LMB: Select a face.
Double LMB: Select the UV island.
Double-clicking to select a UV island is particularly useful for hiding or pinning sections of a mesh that you have already unwrapped.
