Cut UV Active Tool#
The Cut UV tool is the primary tool in the UV Flow add-on and is located in the Edit Mode toolbar. When activated, it provides a pre-selection highlight for edges and faces as you hover over your mesh.

Selecting#
While using the Cut UV tool, you can also select faces:
LMB
: Select a face.Double LMB
: Select the UV island the face is connected to.
Double-clicking to select a UV island is particularly useful for hiding or pinning sections of a mesh that you have already unwrapped. It also frames the selected island in the UV Editor if that is enabled in the add-on’s preferences.
Tip: You can still select or deselect edges in UV Flow with Shift LMB
and Ctrl Shift LMB
, which is useful when straightening.
Tool Settings#
One of the main benefits of using the Cut UV tool is the easy access it provides to all of the commands you need for the whole unwrapping process.
Options for unwrapping, straightening, and packing are all conveniently placed in its tool settings, as well as options for managing the object’s UV layers and display. These can be found in the tool settings section of the 3D View header if you have it enabled, in the sidebar under Tool, or in the Tool section of the Properties Editor.
