Overlays

UV Flow makes it easy to view helpful information on top of your mesh while unwrapping.

Seams

You can control the color of your seams as well as make them more visible with the Solidify option. Solidify temporarily applies a non-destructive geometry node effect while the tool is active which displays the seams as solid curves. The thickness is based on the size of the mesh and can also be fine tuned with the Size setting if desired. The Brightness setting controls the value of the seams. Increasing the brightness won’t make much difference in solid view but can make them glow when in material preview or rendered view.

Checker Texture

The Checker Texture options control if and how a grid texture is applied to the model while the tool is active. The default Blender grids are available as well as a few custom textures.

If you want the checker texture to be visible even when not using the tool, you can enable it for selected objects in Object mode in the UV Flow section of the Object menu.

Enabling a checker texture while Blender’s solid mode color is not set to Texture will only make the selected object textured while the rest of the objects remain untextured, which keeps the viewport as clean as possible. To do this, it sets all other objects’ viewport display property to Solid. UV Flow will revert this change as soon as there are no checker textures enabled in the scene.
