The Cut UV Tool

The main tool in UV Flow is called Cut UV and can be found in the Edit Mode toolbar. When Cut UV is active, you’ll see a pre-selection highlight for edges and faces when hovering over your mesh.

There are a variety of ways you can interact with edges using Cut UV:

  • Edge LMB: Mark edge as seam
  • Edge Alt LMB: Clear edge as seam
  • Edge double LMB: Mark loop as seam, ending at other seams
  • Edge Shift double LMB: Mark entire loop as seam
  • Edge Alt double LMB: Clear loop as seam, ending at other seams
  • Edge Alt Shift double LMB: Clear entire loop as seam
  • Edge drag LMB: Draw mark seam path
  • Edge Alt drag LMB: Draw clear seam path

When marking and clearing loops as seams, the seam will stop when it meets another seam. When drawing to mark or clear seams, use the dots of the neighbor vertices as targets to draw to. You can also erase by going backwards towards the red dot.

You can also select faces while in Cut UV:

  • Face LMB: Select Face
  • Face double LMB: Select UV Island

Double clicking to select a UV island is often helpful to hide or pin sections of a mesh that you’ve already completed unwrapping.
